Black Dog Salvage
540-343-6200If you watch TV home shows and channels like DIY Network, there’s a good chance you’re familiar with the work of Black Dog Salvage from the show Salvage Dawgs.  I discovered this shop over 20 years ago and bought several pieces from them – my farmhouse sinks, lamps and more.. You can spend days in here ( so if raining alot – this is perfect)…

The dog that served as the inspiration for the “Black Dog Salvage” name was Molly, a black lab who belonged to Mike Whiteside, the owner.

Though Molly passed away at the age of 13.5, she helped prepare Sally the Salvage Dog, the current black lab who serves as the welcoming committee for visitors.

Sally can often be seen around the warehouse greeting visitors, following one of the store’s staff, or looking for the perfect spot for an afternoon nap.
