If your little ones are anxious to fill up their trick-or-treat bags with copious amounts of candy, then Smith Mountain Lake is your Halloween hookup.

The Smith Mountain Eagle, one of the areas’ local newspapers, is once again sponsoring “Trick or Treat SML,” a collaborative community event where area businesses decorate their establishments and hand out treats to kids in costume. Look for the bright orange “Trick-or-Treat SML” flyers posted in the front windows of participating businesses. (12p-5p)

If you’re in the Huddleston area, then make sure to check out The Glenwood Center (across from Eastlake Medical) for the Huddleston Trunk or Treat. This safe, family-friendly event is sponsored by Huddleston area churches. In addition to candy, kids can participate in an inflatable obstacle course and enjoy free hot dogs, drinks, and desserts. (6p-8p)

Epworth United Methodist Church will also be hosting a trunk or treat event on Monday, October 31 beginning at 5pm. Located at the corner of Merriman Way and Booker T. Washington Highway, trick-or-treaters can also enjoy apple cider and donuts in the Fellowship Hall. (5p)

Trinity Ecumenical Parish and Halesford Baptist Church are also hosting trunk-or-treat events on Halloween night. Both events take place from 6p-8p.
